Interviews with the Public

Within the framework of the POWERINGCITIZENS project, activities carried out under WP4 focused on collecting citizens’ perspectives on energy challenges and the ongoing energy transition.

Researchers from Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) participated as promoters and engaged directly with members of the public through a series of short interviews. The initiative aimed to gather insights into citizens’ experiences, perceptions, and expectations regarding energy consumption, energy communities, and sustainable practices.

The interviews provided an opportunity to hear directly from citizens in an informal and engaging setting, allowing researchers to better understand the social dimensions of the energy transition. Participants shared their views on everyday energy use, awareness of energy-saving solutions, and the role that communities and institutions can play in supporting more sustainable behaviours.

These contributions will support the WP4 activities, helping the project team analyse citizens’ attitudes and identify barriers and opportunities for greater public engagement in energy initiatives. The initiative also highlighted the importance of involving citizens directly in discussions on energy, strengthening the connection between research and society.
