Energy Café dialogues

In September 2025, the WP3 Energy Café dialogues of the POWERINGCITIZENS project were presented during SHARPER Night in Ancona, engaging citizens in open conversations about energy use, sustainability, and the role of communities in the energy transition. The event saw the active participation of Università Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM), which joined the initiative as a promoter, supporting outreach activities and dialogue with the public.

Energy Cafés are designed as informal, face-to-face awareness-raising events where citizens can discuss energy challenges and solutions in a relaxed and accessible setting. Through guided conversations with project partners and energy advisors, participants explored practical ways to reduce household energy consumption, improve energy efficiency, and learn more about local energy initiatives. These activities contribute to the project’s broader objective of empowering communities with accessible knowledge and tailored advice on energy issues. 

During SHARPER Night, visitors stopped by the project stand to learn more about the project, exchange ideas on everyday energy practices, and take part in interactive discussions. The presence of UNIVPM helped strengthen the link between research and citizens, highlighting the university’s commitment to promoting awareness and community engagement around energy sustainability.

The enthusiastic participation of visitors confirmed the value of bringing energy discussions into public events, making complex topics approachable and encouraging collective reflection and action toward a fair and inclusive energy transition.
